This is so true, Maryanne! I do that, too. Our school requires 20 volunteer hours per family each year, and I know some parents struggle to meet that. I feel lucky that my job allows me to have the flexibility to fit them in AND my interests tend to align quite nicely with the kinds of tasks they need. 🙂

Girl Scouts, school library, Scholastic book fairs, teaching creative writing and other subjects… it’s been such a joy to share the things I love with kids and get so much back from them.
